REVISING

In addition to the checking services included for all translations, clients may request translations to be revised. Revising involves comparing the source and target texts by criteria of correctness and style so that it meets the demands of the living language, and also checking terminology used in the translation. Revision is recommended for work intended for publication, reproduction, posting on the internet, etc. Where certification is required, revision becomes an automatic part of the procedure and its price is included in the certified translation price. A text can only be revised together with the original source text, otherwise only stylistic corrections can be made. We provide revising of our own translations at half price.

REVISING CATEGORIES

  • native-speaker revising: translation revised by criteria of content and style by native speaker of target language who has good understanding of the source language
  • specialised revising: for the main languages, by graduate specialists who know both the source and target language, and for the minor languages, by revisers with broad experience in the subject

CERTIFIED TRANSLATION

A checked and revised translation is certified by a "certifying translator", who binds the printed translation to the original and applies a translation certificate number (and the certifier's stamp, not obligatory) and signs it. A certified translation is not equivalent to a notarised document. It does not contain the stamp of Multi Translations. Before ordering certification, the Client must enquire before or whether the certified translation will be acceptable to the place it is to be submitted.
